Doxy's New Google Sheets Integration: Streamlining Recurring Document Generation

Doxy has just released a new feature that simplifies the process of generating documents repeatedly. This new feature integrates with Google Sheets, offering teams another option alongside our existing Excel upload functionality for connecting their data to document templates.

Previously, many users relied primarily on Excel uploads for bulk document creation, which presented some challenges for recurring tasks. Teams had to download new Excel templates for every batch, manage various spreadsheet versions, and manually re-upload data, leading to inefficiencies and potential data loss.

Doxy's new Google Sheets integration addresses these pain points by establishing a direct link between your Google Sheet and your Doxy template. This eliminates the need for repeated downloads and uploads, streamlining the workflow for generating recurring documents.

Here's how the Google Sheets integration works:

  1. Template Creation: Design your document template using Google Docs, incorporating Doxy's variable syntax for dynamic content.

  2. Excel Template Download: Download the corresponding Excel template, automatically generated by Doxy based on your Google Docs template.

  3. Import to Google Sheets: Import the downloaded Excel template into a new Google Sheets document.

  4. Connect to Doxy Template: Using the familiar Google File Picker, link your Google Sheet to your Doxy template.

  5. Generate Documents: With the connection established, you can generate documents directly from your Google Sheet with a single click.

Benefits of Google Sheets Integration:

By offering both Excel uploads and Google Sheets integration, Doxy provides teams with flexible options to manage their document generation workflows efficiently, whether they prefer traditional Excel files or cloud-based collaborative spreadsheets.
